AUTOMATIC ROUTE PLANNING

ARP Bridge Route Planning Software

Understand Bridge Components before Generating Component-Oriented Inspection Routes

ARP brings bridge 3D models, component labeling, route calculation and inspection-action configuration into one workspace, creating previewable, adjustable and executable missions for piers, undersides, bearings and complex bridge types.

PRODUCT OVERVIEW

Turn a 3D Model into a Component-Aware Mission Space

ARP organizes routes by bridge component. After importing a 3D model and labeling components, operators select targets, aircraft, inspection distance and image overlap. The software generates candidate routes and waypoint actions for 3D preview, review and adjustment.

Component labels and route results can also be exported to the Bridge Inspection Platform through project interfaces, linking imagery and defects to bridge components.

MODEL TO MISSION

Five Steps from Bridge 3D Model to Executable Mission

Planning results are not autonomous-driving instructions that bypass field judgment. Model coordinates, target components, obstacles, waypoint spacing and aircraft boundaries must be checked before export.

01

Import 3D Model

Load project models such as 3D Tiles and B3DM to establish the spatial reference for labeling and route calculation.

02

Label Bridge Components

Create parametric objects for piers, tie beams, pier caps, girders, arch ribs and bearings.

03

Select Components and Parameters

Select target components and configure inspection distance, longitudinal/transverse overlap and aircraft.

04

Generate and Review Routes

Calculate candidate waypoints, paths, viewing directions and actions; preview and adjust them in 3D.

05

Export Mission and Data

Export KML routes and transmit component and mission data to the Bridge Inspection Platform through project interfaces.

COMPONENT ANNOTATION

Give the 3D Model a Component Vocabulary

Bridge models are more than visual references. ARP turns target areas into selectable, numbered and route-linked component objects, supporting route calculation and component-level data management.

ROUTE GENERATION

Generate Candidate Routes for Piers and Girders

Routes are calculated from component geometry, inspection distance, image overlap and aircraft parameters. Coverage and flight risk must be reviewed in 3D after generation.

PIER

Pier Routes

Generates layered orbit routes from pier shape, dimensions, inspection distance and image overlap.

GIRDER

Underside and Girder Routes

Organizes longitudinal and transverse waypoints along girders for soffit, web and other target areas.

PARAMETER-DRIVEN PLANNING

Constrain Missions by Components, Aircraft Type and Acquisition Requirements

A route is more than coordinates. ARP plans inspection objects, imaging requirements and aircraft mission parameters together, maintaining clear links between waypoints and target components.

  • Target ComponentsOrganize missions by single selection, multiple selection or component type
  • Inspection DistanceConfigured by imaging target and field boundary
  • Image OverlapSet longitudinal and transverse acquisition density separately

WAYPOINT ACTIONS

Embed Imaging and Payload Actions in Waypoints

Action availability depends on actual integration of aircraft, gimbal, camera, lighting and SDK interfaces.

01

Camera Parameters

Set exposure, focal length, resolution and other parameters through integrated payload interfaces

02

Lighting Control

Configure lighting at designated imaging waypoints for local backlighting

03

Aircraft Rotation

Command the aircraft to a specified yaw angle

04

Gimbal Rotation

Set gimbal pitch and other project-supported axes

05

Photo

Trigger single, hover or distance-interval photos

06

Video

Configure start and stop recording

07

Payload Control

Call integrated zoom, ranging and other payload functions

08

Hover

Remain at designated waypoints for a configurable duration

FOLLOW WAYLINE

Follow Route

Heading follows flight direction, suitable for longitudinal cruise missions.

FIXED

Fixed Heading

Maintains a fixed heading toward bridge sides or similar targets.

ROI

Face Region of Interest

Continuously faces a designated target component during flight.

KML & PLATFORM WORKFLOW

Planning Results Support Both Aircraft Execution and Inspection-Data Organization

The software outputs aircraft-specific KML mission files and transfers component labels and route results to the Bridge Inspection Platform, supporting links among missions, imagery and components.

KML compatibility, action fields and platform interfaces vary with aircraft firmware, SDK, software version and project configuration and require interface and flight validation before delivery.
